Think only of the best

As a rule, I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions. To me, that’s saying ‘You didn’t do so good last year, so make sure you resolve to do better this year’. I simply highlight the good stuff, learn from my experiences and continue to forge a path of what’s possible moving forward.

I have a greeting card that someone once gave me, and it sits in my bedroom. Every now and then I try and stop and allow myself the 30 seconds it takes to read it. On the first day of this year as we arise to all the possibilities of 2013, I commit myself to the words on it below and hope you find something in them too.

Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best.

Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticise others.

Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!

Happy 2013 everyone.

    Hi Emma,
These are great “resolutions” for the New Year. Thanks for sharing them – I will keep them in mind when faced with challenges in 2013.

Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy and prosperous 2013.

    Hi Emma –

Catching up on emails from holidays and just read this! You know it’s funny, I said to myself that this year there are no resolutions. I always put too much pressure on myself and look at the negative, where as if I actually look back at last year – it was awesome!

I choose instead to continue along the path that I have started the last couple of years, to have love and respect for myself at all times, and for others. That is all, because everything else comes as a result of those actions.

Happy New Year and all the best to the BC team!

Great stuff Jen. Beautiful for you to take the time out to reflect on last year’s awesomeness. I’m sure this year will be more of the same!
